Somatic Experiencing®

Somatic Experiencing® (SE) is a resiliency-based healing modality designed to increase autonomic nervous system regulation and resilience. SE interventions focus on eliciting changes in the brain’s areas that rule automatic responses by tracking your experience of sensations, emotions, images, body posture and gestures, and not just thoughts and meaning making. SE, in essence, grants access to subconscious information through body awareness. It empowers clients to access the wisdom of their bodies through the gradual discharge of stuck threat-response survival energies. SE helps clients reconnect to their instinctive resources and to expand the ability to rest and return to a functional baseline in the here-and-now. Sessions may be done sitting or lying down, with touch or without, with movement or without, in person or remotely via telehealth. Clients report feelings of expansion and transformation once they are freed from stuck states of high arousal, allowing them to move into stress-free aliveness and wholeness, re-engage with life, and achieve their highest potential. For SE students: I am approved by SEI to provide personal sessions and individual case consultations at the Beginning, Intermediate & Advanced levels.

Sri Vidya Tantra

Sri Vidya is an ancient tantric path that leads to a direct experience of the self as a wave of beauty and bliss arising from the ocean of pure consciousness. Tantra is the weaving of techniques to amplify the effects of practice. Tantric Hatha Yoga seamlessly integrates yoga postures, mental awareness and shaping of the breath to strengthen and purify the physical body, balance the nervous system, clear and steady the mind, and build the vital force. Meditation enables access a boundless reservoir of inspiration and capacity, enables you to touch your soul, and to see a world of possibility and beauty that would otherwise remain invisible to the common mind.

Dialectics

Please note that while DBT continues to inform my practice, I am not currently offering comprehensive DBT treatment, nor am I part of a DBT Consultation Team. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a form of therapy rooted in mindfulness and behaviorism designed to help clients create “a life worth living.” Through valuable skills training in mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance, clients move away from emotion-driven behaviors towards their supreme goals and values. Developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan, DBT has been empirically validated through controlled scientific studies as effective treatment for a variety of disorders that involve emotional, cognitive, interpersonal, and/or behavioral difficulties. DBT improves one’s ability to regulate emotions and act wisely, reduces impulsivity, and improves interpersonal relationships. It also supports the development of a cohesive and healthy sense of self.
